My school district will be asking for the 3rd time and I feel after there current announcement that they will be closing a building and putting 7th and 8th grade children in to a high school setting. They're going to be sent another resounding NO. I have never voted against a operating levy but I'm seriously thinking I may this time. This is simply a hold them hostage move and I'm sick and tired of this cow towing to the education unions. Make proper cuts and you'll get your money. continue to make cuts that hurt students and you won't. Our local tax payers are tired of being held hostage. They have dug in their heels and school district are going to get the brunt of this period.

When my oldest son was a high school senior, the school district asked for a referendum. The no votes resulted in cutting out all extra-curricular activities to make budget. You might not realize how much your school district does provide until it is gone. The referendum passed the next year but my son did miss out on a big part of the high school experience.
